As I write, Gibraltar is confronting one of the greatest global health threats of a generation. My thoughts remain with the community and individuals, including our front-line health workers and first responders, most deeply hit by the COVID-19 crisis.

OUR STANCE – WE FACE THE ENEMY AND ROAR

Looking back — drawing on past experience — we have all overcome unprecedented challenges in our lives, as we will this current pandemic.  Our company is no different, it is a living, breathing organism made up of people, industry knowledge and relationships founded on strong principles and ethics. You should know how grateful and proud I am of our employees, clients and partners for the exceptional resilience and solidarity shown under the most difficult of circumstances.

We came into this crisis in a position of strength and no matter the challenge, our focus remains unwavering; what we can do to remain strong, resilient and well-positioned to support our colleagues, clients, partners and community now and in future. Below are some of the things we are doing:

  • - mobilized and implemented work-from-home measures for the entire workforce;
  • - modified operations for those who must go to work on-site, reinforcing both basic and enhanced personal hygiene measures to keep employees and clients safe;
  • - accelerated our efforts to adapt and digitalize our operations where possible; offering remote viewings, valuations, rental and sales services;
  • - engaging closely with government and industry representatives to voice our client, employee, company concerns to become strong participants of the solution;
  • - stand by our employees – we continue to pay our employees who are at home because they have had potential exposure to the virus or whose health is higher risk;
  • - supporting and community initiatives to help those in most need.

Thanks to these measures and our exceptional team we are functioning smoothly and despite the challenges we saw high volumes of rentals in March. There is increased demand for rentals, so please contact us if you have properties available.

There is no doubt in my mind that we will see this enemy through and come back stronger. When things go back to normal and it’s safe – I’ll be inviting you for a much-needed coffee at my usual place. In the meantime, we continue to be here for you whatever your need, a chat too!

Stay safe, stay well – we will meet again.
